Today, he is turning his business interest into a subject that he is personally dealing with and that is aging. John is using this personal issue and combining it with his experience and a post graduate degree in aging exercise physiology to form a business dealing with senior wellness and rejuvenation.

John Hubbell’s sporting career stared in 1958 as an age group athlete and has been involved in elite competitive sport ever since. In his various sporting endeavors, he has been a competitor, official, administrator and coach at the highest echelons. After university in 1973 until1998, he had two parallel careers one as a professional sport coach and the other as an entrepreneur in the venture capital area.

John had three competitive sports that he applied himself too. He has played organized hockey every year from 1956 to the present with the exception of 1972 (an Olympic year), playing youth, university, adult, and old-timer hockey. He has played in many championship teams at all levels and has competed in four adult world recreational championships the latest being in 2012. In 1958, John got involved in figure skating to improve his hockey skating.

Figure skating took precedence over this period and in 1972, his competitive career culminated in representing Canada in the North Americans in Peterborough Canada, Worlds in Calgary Canada and Olympic Championships in Sapporo Japan. John became an avid recreational participant in triathlons and competed in over 45 Olympic distance events. He qualified for the over 50 Canadian world team in 1998. John has recently become an avid golfer..
Academically John studied sport psychology at Wayne State University, Detroit and sport science at the University of Toronto gaining an honors degree in Physical Education. He was a co-author of the psychology section of the Coaches Association of Canada Level 1 and 2 programs. Recently he has received a Masters Degree in Education from Kingston University. John also holds a YMCA fitness qualification. John is presently proposing a PhD study in the area of senior’s fitness.
